Matthew John Thompson was born on 21 Feb 1846^[1] in MacDonald River, New South Wales, Australia as the ninth child of William Pearson & Elizabeth Ewings. He had ten siblings, namely:John Matthew, Frances Ann, William Earl, George, Thomas, Richard, Elizabeth, Jane, Ann, and Joseph Pearson. He died on 25 Mar 1919^[2] in Inverell, New South Wales, Australia. When he was 32, he married Sarah Ann Rolfe, daughter of Joseph Rolfe and Sarah Ann Aubrey, on 28 Mar 1878^[3] in Wellingrove, New South Wales, Australia.
