@NI7472@ NOTEOBITUARY: "Death Notices From The Pageland Journal of Chesterfield County, South Carolina, 1910-1935," April 11, 1917, p. 103: "Mr. J. Brown Threatt died at his home two miles southwest of Pageland Monday afternoon just before 1 o'clock. He had been sick 11 days with appendicitis, but was apparently recovering. Monday he grew worse and sank rapidly until the end came, death being ascribed as a weak heart. Mr. Threatt was 56 years old the 15th of August last year. He had been a member of Five Forks Church for many years and was well and favorably known throughout this section. His wife, five daughters, and two sons survive. The sons are serving in the United States Army in Texas. An effort was made to write them, but the body could not be kept for them to come so far, so the funeral was conducted at Five Forks yesterday by Rev. J. A. White of Jefferson and the body was buried at the cemetery at that place. Four of the daughters are at home and one is married, Mrs. M. M. Mullis. The boys names are Robert and Harmon."
