Agnes (Thwaite) Butterworth was born in Hawes, Yorkshire, England.

Agnes was born in Hawes, Yorkshire, England, in 1878. She was the daughter of Francis Thwaite and Sarah (Unknown).

Agnes married James Butterworth in Colne, Lancashire, England in 1904. The couple had at least three children. In 1911, Agnes, James, and their two oldest children were living at 207 Leeds Road, Nelson, Lancashire. She was thirty three and "Assisting in the Business". (Her husband was a "Bootmaker").

Agnes passed away on January 11, 1953. Her residence at time of death was 52 St Annes Road, east St Annes on the Sea, Lancashire. She was buried at Lytham Park Cemetery and Crematorium, Lytham Saint Annes, Fylde Borough, Lancashire, England.
