John Chiles Tillman was born January 21, 1869 in Lawrence, Cloud, Kansas, the son of David Tillman and Martha Arnold. [1]
He never married. Through the 1900 census he was listed as a farmer living on his family farm. [2][3]
From the 1910 census until his death in 1948 he was a patient in the State Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina listed as insane. [4][5]
His death certificate stated cause of death as chronic myocarditis and senility (age 79). [6] John was buried at the Eastview Cemetery in Wadesboro, Anson, North Carolina sharing a headstone with his brother, Frederick Shailor Tillman,who also never married. [7]
