The present descendants of the King Family retain many of the characteristics of their rugged ancestors. They are scattered through South Carolina, Georgia and the Gulf States, and I am always glad to meet them -- for they fill their place in the warfare of life with credit to themselves and the community. (Allen, Penelope Johnson, "Johnson Family." Chattanooga: H.B. Miller, 1967. 53-57. As told by Ephraim Malone Johnson, 1803-1884, husband of Rebecca King, granddaughter of Robert King, Sr.)
