Biography

Charles Henry Tomkins was born in 1867 in Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Charlotte (Sheppard) Tomkins and George Tomkins.^[1]

He married Isabella Neely in 1893 in Sydney, New South Wales.^[2][3] Their children were:^[3]

• May Matilda Isabel Tomkins (1895–1983)
• Roy Charles Alexander Tomkins (1897–1973)

Charles was a master saddler.^[4] In November 1904, he carried on his business in Church Street, Mudgee.^[5] He was elected an alderman for the Municipality of Mudgee in 1908.^[6]

By 1916, Charles and his family had moved to Sydney, New South Wales.^[7][8][9]

Isabella died in 1937.^[10]

Charles died on 20 October 1947 in Glebe, Sydney.^[3][11]
