Stephen, son of Thomas James Chesshyre Tomlin a barrister, and Marion Olivia Tomlin, was baptised on the 20th April 1901 in St James Church, Paddington, Westminster, England.^[1]

In the 1911 census Stephen (age 10) was in Copthorne Crawley, Burstow, Surrey, England.^[3]

In the 1921 census Stephen (age 20), Art Student, was the single son of Thomas James Chesshyse Tomlin at 5 Clifton Place, Paddington, London & Middlesex, England.^[4]

Stephen's marriage to Julia F Strachey was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1927 in the Pancras district, Middlesex.^[5]

Stephen's death (age 35) was registered in the Jan-Feb-Mar quarter of 1937 in the Bournemouth district, Hampshire.^[6]
