When Mary was about 17 she married Gideon Crawford in about 1856 in Georgia, USA.^[1] The couple had 8 children:

Research Notes

She is called Mary in the 1860 census. She is called Frances in the 1880 census, and in the death record for son Mathew.^[3] It's possible that her name was Mary Frances, as others have speculated; or it's possible that her husband married twice, and they are two separate women.
