Origin

Julia was born 25 Oct 1817[1][2] or c. 1822 at Kanawha County, Virginia.[3] She was a daughter of John F. Toney and Mary Ferguson.[2]

Note: Vital dates for Julia were copied from her grave marker.[1][4]

Family

Julia married twice.[1]

  • Julia married July 8, 1838 in Kanawha, West Virginia to Noah Foster.[1]
  • She married in 1848 to Bayless Cooper.[1]

Note: Noah Foster did not die until 1863, so it is unclear how Julia married to her 2nd in 1848. Was this a case of abandonment and divorce? If so then how do we know Noah's death date?
