Aunt Creasie & Uncle Ern lived in Madisonville until Uncle Ern could no longer farm. They moved to Peoria, Illinois and lived with their daughter Reva. Clinton also lives there. They would visited Tn. almost every summer to see their other daughter Eva Mae in Oak Ridge and kin folks in Monroe County. Aunt Creasie was so much like my Granny Pheobe . I can see them cooking in the kitchen over a wood stove, humming a hymn, and laughing their sweet shy giggles just to be together. I always loved Aunt Creasie, but she became more precious to me after my Granny went to Heaven. It was almost like having my Granny back on those trips to Tn. Aunt Creasie & my Granny were sisters who married brothers Joseph "Joe" Atkins and Ernest Atkins. That is one reason why we visited with them more often than all my other great aunts & great uncles. The Torbetts had 14 children and the Atkins had 17 children, so you can see we were a large loving family.
Lucinda Lucretia Torbett Atkins was named after her two grandmother Lucinda Mason Torbett b. 1832/05/10 & d. 1897/06/30 and Lucretia Patterson Gibson b. 1827/Oct. & d. 1907/02/14.
