PEAK HILL. - It is with deep regret that I have to record the death of a very old and highly respected resident of this town in the person of Mr. John Townsend, who passed away after a long and painful illness on Sunday, 11th April, 1926 and was buried on the Monday. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family, who are mostly in Sydney, one daughter residing in Queensland.[5]
He is buried at Peak Hill Cemetery with his wife Isabella [6]
