Biography

When Doyal R. Townsend was born on December 13, 1927, in Alabama, his father, Lee, was 21 and his mother, Callie, was 21. He had one brother and one sister and was married to Gertrud McLeroy. Doyal served in the US Navy during WWII. He died on November 15, 2003, in Birmingham, Alabama, at the age of 75, and was buried in Sumiton, Alabama.
