This week Mr. Phill Townsley, of Phillipsburg township, announces to the Republicans of this county that he is a candidate for the office of Treasurer, subject to the action of their convention. Mr. Townsley has been in the county 13 years , and has stood by it through all its vicissitudes. When he was 19 years of age he enlisted in the 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and served 34 months. He has always been a true Republican, said to be competent to fill the office to which he aspires, and will no doubt have a strong following in the convention.
