Amy Louisa Ann Traves was born on 10 August 1890, at Cowra, New South Wales.^[1] She was the daughter of William Henry Traves (1858-1940) and Mary Kelly (1861-1929).

Amy married Leslie Watson Woodley (1892-1966) on 2 August 1916, at Canowindra, New South Wales.^[2] They had three children.
