Biography

John was born in 1872 per research published in "The Trenary Family Tree: 1811-1880, Wells County Indiana" compiled by Sandra Ann Houlihan and Thomas Trenary Baker andd printed by the Ossian Journal in Ossian, Indiana. He passed away in 1948.

The marriage registration for John Nelson Trenary names the parents of both the bride and groom. His parents are identified as Nelson H. Trenary and Mary Plummer. Her parents are identified as George Washington 'Wayne' [should be Wagner] and Esther G. 'Foughtay'. They ewre married 23 Feb 1898. ^[1]

The couple had five children: Clyde Brooks (1898-1949); Marvel Leona (1900-1974); Elma Rose (1904-1986); Mary Esther (1908-1986) and Preston Wagner (1912-1976). ^[2]

On 22 June 1880 when the US Federal Census was enumerated, the couple was living in Wells County with their four eldest children. He was a farmer.

When the 1930 US Federal Census was enumerated, the Trenary family was living in Quincy, Branch County, Michigan.
