Richard Trenholm was born in 1806 in Hants County, Nova Scotia. His parents were Matthew and Sarah Catherine (Northrup) Trenholm.
He married Hannah Redden 24 March 1820. They had six children.
He passed away in Hants County, Nova Scotia on 14 July 1883. He is buried in the Redden Valley Cemetery.
