Biography

Private William Tripp served in the United States Civil War.
Enlisted: Sept. 17, 1861

William H. was born in 1842 in New York. He was the son of Tomkins Tripp and Sarah Scott.[1]

His family moved to Rockford Illinois in 1851. [2]

In September 1861 William enlisted as a musician with Company G, 45th Regiment, Illinois Infantry. He mustered out July 1865. [3][4][5][6]

He married Mary Anne Beales in 1861 before he left for war. [7]

After the war they lived In Aurora where he was a painter. [8] [9]

William passed away in 1889. [10]
