Biography

Frederick William Tritton was born around 1866 in Eythorne, Kent, England, United Kingdom. ^[1][2] He was the son of Sarah J Tritton and William Tritton. ^[1]

Frederick Tritton migrated from England to Queensland.

He came to Queensland (Australia) with his parents and brother John on the Sirsa in 1884. ^[3]

He established a furniture warehouse in South Brisbane, relocating to the city in 1899. His new warehouse ran through from George Street to North Quay and was a well-known landmark. ^[2]

Frederick married Eliza Ellen Worrall on 10 October 1889 in Brisbane, Queensland. ^[4] Their children were:

• Lillian May Tritton (1892–1919) ^[6]
• Ivy Jane Tritton (1894–1976); ^[7] married surname Shaw

Aged in his early eighties, Frederick passed away on 13th March 1947 at his home in Clayfield, in Brisbane's northern suburbs, aged 81 years. ^[11][2]
