Note N1672John Cowell was born in Heydon Essex at about 1700. He married a lady called Amy Trott on the 26th September 1731 in Layston Essex. John was a poulterer by trade and he died on June 21st 1760 in Heydon, John and Amy had four children, of course there could be more. Apart from the youngest, Amy, they were all born in Chrishall and she was born in Heydon, so it looks as though they moved back to Heydon sometime between 1735 and 1736.
At some time they moved from Chrishall to Heydon which is a village quite near. This must have been so, as the deaths of both John and Amy are recorded at Holy Trinity Church Heydon. John died on June 21st 1760 and Amy died on April 30th 1774 and it states that she was the widow of John Cowell. Amy was the daughter of a Henry Trott. The Trott family originally came from Germany and in the first instance settled in Ipswich, then to Saffron Waldron
