Biography

From:[1]Newspaper Obituary 1906,from the "Gallatin North Missourian".

"Passed Away"

"Daniel T. Troxel, or 'Uncle Dan,' as he was familiarly called, passed to his final rest and reward on the 18th day of January, 1906, aged 77 years, 1 month and 1 day. He was born in DeWitt county, Illinois, Dec. 17, 1828. He was married to Emeline Scott in the year 1849, and from this union there were born 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls, 5 of whom are living to mourn his death and 3 preceded him to the better land. His wife was also called to pass over the river some years before him. His sons are earnest church workers and are among our best and most prominent citizens.

"Uncle Dan was converted and united with the Rock Creek Christian church in 1848, under the preaching of Elder W. Boles. He lived a consistent Christian life up to the time of his death. His funeral services were conducted by Elder H. A. Kerr in the Prairie City Christian church, in this county, and his remains were buried in the Scotland graveyard, where his body will peacefully rest until the resurrection of the just. He leaves in addition to his immediate family a large number of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. He had been stricken with total blindness during the later years of his life, but this did not deter him from attending puncutally to religious services. He was generally found in the house of God on the Lord's day.

"We laid him away with the firm conviction that our loss was his eternal gain. May we all live to meet him and greet him in the better land. K."

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Daniel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Daniel:
