Biography

María de Jesus was born in 1886 to Martin Trujillo and María Manuela Chacon.[1] In 1902 she married José Meliton Maestas[2] and they had three children: Celia (Sadie), Elvira, and Santiago Porfirio (aka James). They were still married in 1910 but a pregnant Jesusita and their two daughters were living with her widowed mother.[3] In 1916 and 1918, Jesusita had two children with someone named "de Herrera," Esther P. and Lodolo (or Teddy). By 1920, she was married to Felix Mestas, José's older brother.[4]
