Biography

Son of John Truslow.

Died at his residence on 7th Street,New York City.

Married at the home of Mrs.Devoe in New York City on November 10,1808 to Mary Angevine.

Second marriage at Scarsdale on December 22,1853,Mrs.Juliette Shipman.

Was in the building trade in his early years but later established a dry goods business under the name of Truslow and Woolsey;and later with his sons,William,John and Thomas,he owned a coal business.Elected to serve in the 73rd session of the New York State Legislature from the 5th Assembly District in 1849.

He lived at 114 Division Street until 1832,moved to Pike Street while he was building a home at 144 Madison Street.He lived only three years after his second marriage,spending his summers in his country home in Porchester and winters in his second wife's home on 7th Street,near 2nd Avenue,New York City.
