Biography

Winona was born in 1904 in Oregon to Calvin R. Trussell and Helen A. ??. She grew up on a farm. In 1927, she married William Harvey Bailey in Dixonville. They stayed on his family's fruit farm and raised a son there, and eventually took over it over. Her parents-in-law continued to live on the farm. The farm switched from fruit to Christmas trees in the 1950s. Her husband passed away there (in Douglas County, OR) in 1982. Winona sold the farm and continued to live in the area. She passed away in 1999 at the age of 95 and is buried with other members of her family in Roseburg Memorial Gardens in nearby Rosebury, OR.
