Biography

William Eyton Tullo was born in Yapeen Victoria in 1864 to John Tullo and his wife Isabella Whear.[1]

Susan Mary Codner married William Eyton Tullo in 1888 [2]

William Tullo died in East Melbourne in 1916[3]

LABORER FATALLY INJURED

Misadventure was the finding- of Dr. R. H. Cole, the Coroner, at the Morgue, after holding an inquiry into the death on April 5 of William Tullo, 51, laborer, of Carlton.

The evidence showed that Tullo was knocked down by a motor 'bus in Lygon street. The driver sounded his horn, shouted and swerved, but Tullo hesitated, ran forward and was struck by the mud guard.[4]

MOTOR BUS FATALITY.

Shortly 'before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, a man who was crossing the road at the intersection of Lygon and Grattan streets, Carlton, was knocked down by a motor bus, the fore .part of which struck him on the head, inflicting injuries which re sulted fatally.' The body was taken to the Morgue, and 'last night it was identified is that of William Tullo, 50, sewerage ganger, who lived with his wife and family at Pelham-street, Carlton.[5]

GUILDFORD. Friday.

News 'was received to-day that the man who was run over and killed by a motor bus at the corner of Lygon and Gratton streets. Carlton. on Thursday, was Mr William Tullo, a native of the' town and a brother of Messrs. George and John Tullo. and Mrs James Stevens. residents of Guildford. He was the eldest; son of the late Mr John Tullo, a well-known old resident. who carried on business as a carpenter here and was the father of Mr Fred. Tullo of Castlemaine. Deceased was 51 years of age, and leaves a widow, three daughters. and two sons to mourn his loss

Great sympathy is expressed locally with the bereaved family.[6]
