Cloy lived in Toronto with his family at 354 Soudan Ave in Toronto.
He was killed near the Don River in the Bayview/Eglinton area of Toronto when he was nine years old.
He died from a bullet wound while out with schoolmates and his older brother for a day of hunting, fishing and sugar maple tapping on March 25, 1921. He was accidentally shot by one of the other boys.
His death was reported in the Toronto papers of the day and in the Shelburne paper.
