Biography

Martha was born November 14, 1780, the daughter of Nathan Tupper and Lydia Freeman of Liverpool, Nova Scotia^[1]

On April 10, 1799, she married John Freeman, the son of William Freeman and Mary Cobb^{[2] [3]}. Their children included:

1. Lydia, born Oct. 31, 1800, in Liverpool, who married James A. Taylor, November, 1822^[4]
2. Hannah Parker, born Dec, 19, 1803; who married Samuel Mack in 1825
3. John, born Oct. 7, 1805 who died at sea in 1825, unmarried
4. Tupper, born Oct. 29, 1808; who died at sea, unmarried
5. Martha Sophia, born April 21, 1810; who married Smith F. Roberts, October, 1841.
6. James Thomas, born Feb. 12, 1813; who married Rebecca Elder, June, 1841.
