Biography

Martha was born April 5, 1744, the daughter of Nathan Tupper and Experience Gibbs of Rochester, Plymouth, Massachusetts[1] [2] [3]

Circa 1759, she moved to Liverpool, Nova Scotia with her family, where she married first Captain Howe Stewart[2]. He was the Master of the sloop Liberty on Tuesday March 31, 1767[4]

On May 15, 1774, she married Barnabas (Barnaby Freeman, son of Elisha. He was a widower, who was also one of the original proprietors of Liverpool, NS[2] [5]. Martha and Barnabas did not have children.

Martha (Tupper) Howe Freeman died 24 Jul 1784 in Liverpool[4]
