Mary Turner was born in March Township in 1895, the daughter of John Turner and Susan Acres. Their family lived in Carleton, Ontario.
She married Richard Prettie in Westboro in 1917.

Mary Mabel Prette passed away on April 5, 1985, aged 90 years, late of 1768 Carrick Street, last surviving child of Johnny Turner and Susan Acres "Klondike Inn", South March, Ontario.
Mary was born in South March on April 2, 1895. Predeceased by her loving husband, Warrant Officer Richard Prette M.B.E. December 11, 1972. Survived by nine children, Mr. Beverly (Nan) Prette, Mr. Dick (Jean) Prette, Mrs. Joan (Ab) Wells of Victoria, B.C., Mrs. Ruth (Harry) Bulpit of West Vancouver, B.C., Mr. Jack (Isobel) Prette of Calgary, Alberta, Mrs. Mary (Bob) Forrester of Mississauga, Ontario. Mrs. Shirley (Ray) Henderson of Ottawa, Ontario, Mrs. Millie (Paul) Cutsev of London, Ontario and Mrs. Ann McKinney of Bellville, Ontario; also 31 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held in The Lady Chapel, Christ Church Cathedral, 900 Quadra Street on Friday, April 12th. Interment at Hatley Memorial Gardens. McCall Bros. entrusted with arrangements.[2]
