Biography

Emma Elizabeth Turner was born in 1860. She was the daughter of Albert Wilson Turner (1822-1903) and Electa Wyatt (1818-1870).

She married 1st William Ellis Clester (1853-1896) in 1882 in Miami, IN.[1] They had two children:

Orlo August Clester 1882-1903
Roscoe Charles Clester 1892-1974

She married 2nd Jacob Peter Arnbrecht (1846-1930), a Russian immigrant, in 1899 in Howard, IN. He had been previously married to Katharina Mickles (1848-1899) and had multiple children with her.

She is recorded in 1900 in Jasper, IN, with Jacob, his eleven children, and her two children. She was still a newlywed. She reported her father was born in Ohio and her mother in WV. In 1910 just she and Jacob were in the house, and only 1 of her 2 children was still alive.

She died in 1949 and is buried in Converse Cemetery with her first husband, as Emma Clester.

Notes

No children are known from second marriage; Lydia Arnbrecht (linked on Find a Grave profile) is believed from Jacob's first marriage. Death certificate, pictured on Find a Grave, lists Arnbrecht as current name and gives Logansport, Cass, IN as place of death. She was a previous resident of Francesville, Pulaski, IN, suffered a fall and fractured femur at home before being transported to Memorial Hospital in Cass Co. where she died soon thereafter of a pulmonary embolism. Her father was Wilson Turner and mother's LNAB was Wyatt (with a ?). Informant was Roscoe Clester.

1880, 1930 and 1940 census needed still. Would 1880 it be in Miami County, where the first marriage occured? Probably later censuses would be in Pulaski.
