Life events

Stephen Thomas Colvin Turner was born in Nikosia, Cyprus in 1910. He was the son of Henry Attree Turner and Marion "May" Frances Colvin.^[1]

He attended Marlborough College, matriculating in November, 1928, and graduated B.A. from the University of Cambridge in 1931.^[1]

On the 12th May 1938, he married Yolande Valerie Stopford at Maidenhead, Berkshire. Miss Stopford was the daughter of Major Hon. Edward Barrington Lewis Stopford and Alice Maud Pashley Burbeary.^[2][3]

Stephen Thomas Colvin Turner died at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, on the 15th January 1969, aged fifty-eight years.^[4][5][6]

Career notes

Mr Turner was employed with MacGregor & Co., Ltd., timber exporters, in Rangoon, 1931–32. From 1933, he was Assistant C.O., Desert Patrol with the Arab Legion in Transjordan.^[1]
