Biography

Ann Twiss was born in 1829 to John, a labourer, and Margaret Twiss in Tilston, Cheshire. She was christened on 27 December 1829 in Bunbury, Cheshire. ^[1].

In the 1841 census, Ann, aged 13, was listed as a servant in the household of Charles Bate ^[2].

Ann Twiss, aged. 20, a servant, was married by Banns to Joseph Davis, a labourer of full age on 20 Aug 1849 in Tarpoley, Cheshire. ^[3]. Her father was John Twiss, and Joseph's father was Richard Davis. The Marriage was wittnessed by Thomas Davis and Mary Yardley.

In the 1851 census, Ann is living with her Husband, an agriculural labourer and their 1 year old daughter, Sarah Davis in Tarporley, Ash Hill, Cheshire^[4].

In 1871, Ann is 42 and living with her husband and children in Tiverton^[5].

In 1881, Ann and her husband are living with two children in Tilston Heath^[6].
