Francis Twiss (1759-1827) was the younger son of Francis Twiss an English merchant then residing in Holland, who subsequently settled in Norfolk. and his wife Anne Hussey.
Francis Twiss, who was educated at Cambridge, reputedly nourished a hopeless passion for Sarah Kemble (later the celebrated Mrs. Siddons) before settling for marriage to her less talented but equally beautiful sister Frances Fanny Kemble on the on 22 April 1786 at St. Giles-in-the-Fields, London,
He died aged 68 on the 28th of April 1827 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.
