Biography

Thomas Twiss was chirstened in 1806 in Rostherne, and was the son of William and Mary Twiss ^[1].

In 1851^[2], Thomas, age 45, and his family are living at Park Gate Farm, Shaw Heath.

In the 1871 census^[3], Thomas (age 64) is living with his wife, Hannah (age 64), and their 30 year old son, John Twiss, his 11-year-old niece, Sarah Abbeson, and his 23-year-old daughter, Susan H Hunt. Thomas is a farmer of 80 acres and employer of two men and a boy.

Thomas Twiss was buried on the 27 February 1873 at the age of 66^[4].
