John Henry Tyack was born at Truro, Cornwall in 1860, the son of John Henry Tyack and Elizabeth Chynoweth.^[1]

John Tyack married Jessie Fraser in Queensland, on the 9th of November 1897.^[2]

John was responsible for building the Queens Hotel on the Strand, the beautification of the Strand, and the Anzac Park Rotunda.

John Tyack passed away at Townsville, Queensland, on the 28th of July 1913, and was buried in the West End Cemetery.^[5]
