Dorcas (Tyler) Barker was born in England.
Dorcas Tyler was born in 1847 in Woodham Ferrers, Essex, the daughter of an unknown mother and Henry Tyler. She married Charles Barker in January 1868 in Chelmsford, Essex, England. They had nine children in 21 years. She died in June 1919 in Chelmsford, Essex, England, at the age of 72.
Early Life
There was no birth or baptism record found, therefore the mother's nee name was unavailable.
In 1851 through to 1861 the Census shows that she was living with her grandmother.
Marriage and Family
Dorcas Tyler married Charles Barker in the Chelmsford District of Essex, England in January 1868 when she was 21 years old.[1]
In 1871 the family are living at Runsell Hamlet, Danbury, Essex, Dorcas is aged 24 while her husband Charles is 26 years old and working as a Hurdle Maker.
1881 through to 1901 the Census shows they are still living in Danbury, Essex and in 1911 the Census states the postal address as the village at Little Baddow.
Her husband Charles passed away in April 1911 in Chelmsford District of Essex, at the age of 65. They had been married 43 years.
Dorcas Tyler died in June 1919 in the Chelmsford District of Essex, when she was 72 years old.[2]
