Biography

Margaret "Maggie" Carter[1] was born about 1861 in Georgia.[2]

She married James Carter Ashworth on 19 Jan 1875 in Polk County, Georgia[1][3][4][5][2][6] and had the following known children:

  1. William Ashworth was born 30 Dec 1875 and died 30 May 1940 in Piedmont, Calhoun County, Alabama.[4][2]
  2. James C. Ashworth was born about 1879 in Georgia.[2]
  3. Judge M. Ashworth was born Mar 1881 in Georgia.[6]
  4. Randolph Ashworth was born Mar 1884 in Georgia.[6]
  5. Sherman Ashworth was born Mar 1886 in Georgia.[6] He died 16 Apr 1948 in Leesburg, Cherokee County, Alabama.[5]
  6. Bessie Ashworth was born Dec 1890 in Georgia.[6][7]
  7. Alfred Ashworth was born Apr 1892 in Georgia.[6]
  8. Alexander Ashworth was born Jan 1893 in Georgia.[6]
  9. Ida Ashworth was born Mar 1895 in Georgia.[6]

Margaret died sometime before 1900, possibly in Polk County, Georgia where Carter and the children were living that year.[6]
