Biography

Sarah Ann ____ is the wife of John Mikell Lucas, son of John Perkins Lucas and Ann (Mikell) Lucas of Screven county, Georgia. Her Find A Grave memorial shows her maiden name as "Tumlin" but no source for her last name at birth has been found.

From her headstone, we know that Sarah Ann was born January 4, 1793 and died May 15, 1870. She and John are buried in the cemetery of the Little Ogeechee Baptist Church, in Oliver, Screven county, Georgia. Cemetery surveys in the mid-1950s and mid-1970s did not include their headstones, which had fallen over and were buried in the surrounding lawn. A lawnmower "rediscovered" it in the 1990s. ^[1]
