Biography
Sarah Norman was born in 1849 in Parracombe, Devon, England to John Norman and Elizabeth (Latham) Norman. Her birth was registered in Barnstaple, Devon in the third quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Latham.[1]
In 1851 Sarah Norman (age 1) lived in Parracombe with her father John (49, Farmer of 60 Acres Emp 1 Lab), mother Elizabeth (44), and five siblings: Mary A (13, Cripple), Nicholas (12, Employd On The Farm), Susan (8), George (6), and Eliza (4), as well as two servants: Philip Chapple (24, Farm Serv On The House) and Elizabeth Lovering (25, House Serv).[2]
In 1861 Sarah Norman (age 11, Scholar) lived at West Heal in Parracombe with her father John (59, Farmer of 136 Acres), mother Elizabeth (54), and four siblings: Nicholas (22), Betsey (20), Susan (18), and George (16).[3]
In 1871 Sarah Norman (age 21, Dressmaker) lived in Parracombe with her father John (70, Farmer).[4]
Sarah Norman married William Arnall in 1873. The marriage was registered in Tavistock, Devon in the second quarter of the year.[5]
In 1881 Sarah Arnall (age 31) lived at Recorder St in Swansea, Glamorganshire with her husband William (24, Railway Co Haulier) and four children: William (7, Scholar), Mary A (4, Scholar), Selina Ann (2), and Earnest J (0).[6]
In 1891 Sarah Arnall (age 42) lived in Swansea with her husband William (56, Horse Keeper) and eight children: William (17, Butcher), Mary A (15), Selina (14, Scholar), Ernest J (11, Scholar), Albert A (9, Scholar), George H (5, Scholar), Sydney J (3), and Walter R (2), as well as boarder Henry Incledon (26).[7]
Sarah Arnall passed away in 1894, aged 46 years. Her death was registered in Swansea in the last quarter of the year.[8]
