Biography

This lady's name is unknown to history. ^[1]

She married Walter Steward and the eldest known child, Frances, was born in 1647 in Paris where her husband had taken refuge from his creditors in the household of the exiled Queen, Henrietta Maria. His last letter to England seeking help with his debts was dated 20 December 1647. ^[2]

It is known that Unknown Female Stewart was in London in 1663 counselling her daughter, Frances, to resist the advances of the King, Charles II. ^[3]
