Agnes (Unknown) Finch was born in Essex, England.

Agnes was born about 1514. She married Thomas Finch/Fynch. The couple had at least one child, a daughter.

She passed away in early 1557 or early 1558.

Research Notes

A woman named Agnes Fynch was buried in Stanford Rivers, Essex, England on 16 Jan 1557^[1] or 1558^[2] about 20 miles SSE of Lindsell.^[3] Another record two months later in the same register notes that her husband was named Thomas.^[4] The original death date from the profile, 4 Mar 1570, has no source and has been replaced with this record of her burial.

Another Agnes Finche in the same area married Humfre Reynolde in South Weald, Essex on 15 Sep 1560. South Weald is only 8 miles SE of Stanford Rivers where the Agnes in this profile died several years before the marriage, had a different birth name, and so a different person; possibly a daughter or niece.^[5]

There was an Agnes Ellis of Kent, daughter of Thomas Ellis, who married John Finch. Her g-grandfather Thomas Ellis was High Sheriff of Kent in 1428, so she would have been about the right age. However, her husband was John and it's unlikely that she was the mother of Alice Finch, so these appear to be two different people.^[6]

This profile describes the woman who died in Stanford Rivers, Essex in 1557 or 1558 who was married to a man named Thomas Finch.
