The history of this profile shows that it is apparently the product of an unfortunate merge of two different daughters of John II, both allegedly named Catherine (the name is not confirmed) and both died young; one, born about 1338, was the daughter of John and his first wife, Bonne of Luxembourg; the other, born 1352, was the second of two daughters born to his seconde wife, Jeanne of Boulogne.
Catherine of France, born early in 1352 and died soon afterwards, may have been the second daughter born to John II of France and his second wife, Jeanne of Boulogne. Her existence is not proven and neither her name, nor her gender are certain[1]. Père Anselme does not mention her in his list of John II's children.
