DELLA M. DAVIS, 99, died at her home on June 9, 2007.

She was born in Putnam County on Sept. 19, 1907, to Jesse and Lulu Lentz Vandemark, who preceded her in death.

On Oct. 2, 1942, she married Francis E. Davis, who died in 1988. Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Gomer High School and the Lima City Hospital of Nursing and worked most of her registered nurse career as a private duty nurse. She was a volunteer for Family Planning of Lima. She was a member of Gomer United Church of Christ and its Amity Circle and Young at Heart.

Mrs. Davis loved traveling and camping. She had visited 48 states in her travels. She also enjoyed sewing and square dancing and volunteering for many organizations.

While known as "Auntie" to many nieces and nephews, special survivors include a niece, Mary Kay (John) Studer, and nephews James (Lora) Roberts, Bruce (Barbara) Roberts and Ray Roberts. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Clair, Aurelius, Andral, Odes, and Glen, and two sisters, Dorothy Vandemark and Iva Roberts.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer. The Rev. Brian Knoderer will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gomer United Church of Christ, Gomer.
