PLUMLAND POLICE SUED BY "LIJE" "A suit for false imprisonment growing out of the Stone Ridge war of two years ago was placed on trial in the supreme court this afternoon. The title of the action is Andres E. Vandemark vs. D. J. Sullivan and Louis Smith and Arthur E. Rose appears for the plaintiff and the Hon. Andrew J Cook for the Defendants. The plaintiff, who is no other than the famous "Lije" Vandemark, for many years widely known as the guardian of the peace of Stone Ridge and tireless terror to evil doers throughout the town of Marbletown, was arrested at his home by the defendants, who are members of the Aqueduct police, incarcerated in their barracks and held prisoner until Justice Westbrook appeared and discharged him."
