Mrs. Edna Vanest Armstrong, 75, of 212 South Brooks street died Wednesday at Bartholomew county hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks. She had been ill for a month.
A Brown county native, Mrs. Armstrong was born Sept. 18, 1896, the daughter of James and Birdie Evans Vanest. She lived most of her life in Bartholomew county. She was a member of the East Columbus Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel, to whom she was married on Sept. 27, 1919; two sons, Donald L. Armstrong of Bryan, Ohio, and Arthur L. Armstrong of 1923 Pennsylvania street; two daughter, Mrs. W. Marshall Boll of Route 4, and Mrs. Harry Breen of Indianapolis; a brother, Allen Vanest of 1455 Franklin street; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Murray of Columbus, and Mrs. Allen Barr of Route 2; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Reed funeral home by the Rev. Robert Jones. Persons may call from 2 until 5 and 7 until 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery.[1]
