Biography
Ayres was born about 1836. He is the son of Elijah Vardeman and Margaret Holliday.
The 1850 census shows Elijah Vardeman and Margaret (Holliday) Vardeman, in Copiah, Mississippi, with children: Jeremiah, John, Dewitt, Ayres, Anna, Sarah, and George.[1]
