The 1870 census lists "Willie" Veazie, born Apr 1870, in the household of Jones P. and Susan Veazie. The 1880 census for Bangor lists "Wildes P W Veazie," age 10, as "son" of Susan T. Veazie, widow. In 1893 (www.cfbdatawarehouse.com), Wildes was the head coach of the University of Maine football team (The Maine Black Bears) and compiled a 0-5 record. That year the Black Bears scored a total of 24 points; the opponents a total of 122 points.
