George Venables-Vernon was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Biography

George was born in 1735. He was the son of George Vernon and Mary Howard and was baptised at ST George, Hanaover Square, London on 4 Jun 1735. [1]

He was educated at Westminster School and at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, proceeding MA in 1755.

He served as a Whig Member of Parliament for Weobley from 1757 to 1761, Bramber from 1762 to 1768 and Glamorganshire from 1768 to 1780.

He also served as vice president of the Welch Charity.

He married Hon. Louisa Barbarina Mansell (daughter of Bussy Mansell, 4th Baron Mansell of Margam and Lady Barbara Villiers) on 16 July 1757. [2] They had at least two children who are commemorated on a monument in the church of St Mary, Newick. [3]

  • "Charlotte, second daughter of the Hon. George Vernon, ob. 1770, aged 1 year 10 months."

He married, secondly, Jane Georgina Fauquier (daughter of William Fauquier and Grace Warner) on 25 May 1786. They had one daughter.

Bradwall Hall, near Sandbach, Cheshire was owned by the Barons of Kinderton until it was conveyed to John Latham M.D., president of the Royal College of Physicians.

He passed away at Sudbury, Derbyshire in 1813 at the age of 78. [4] After his death his title passed to his half-brother, the third Baron, the eldest son of the first Baron's third marriage. His will was probated on 30 Jul 1813. [5]
