Charles was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of John Baptist Vernier dit LaDouceur II and Catherine (Billiau dit Lesperance). He married (1)Adaline Nichols. Their child is Charles. He married (2)Victoria Petit on May 28, 1829 at St. Francois, Clinton River, Michigan. Their children are Mary (Joseph) Balard dit Godfray, John Baptiste, Edward and Daniel. He gave his son, Charles, 172.42 acres of land as a gift on Sept. 11, 1824. When he died, his wife was named administrator of his estate, and his son, Charles was guardian of the estate which was valued at $4000.00. The heirs petitioned for partition in 1851, and the 36-acre estate was sold at public auction on May 5, 1953.
