He was the son of Edward Hyde Villiers, 5th Earl of Clarendon and Lady Caroline Elizabeth Agar.[1]He was born on the 7th of June 1877 at 31 Upper Brook Street, London, England.[2][3]
He married the Hon. Adeline Verena Ishbel Cocks, daughter of Blanche Margaret Standish Clogstoun and Herbert Haldane Somers Cocks on the 5th of August 1905 at Trinity Church, Sloane Street, Chelsea, London, England.[2][4]
He served as the 5th Governor-General to the Union of South Africa between 1931 and 1937.[5]
He died on the 13th of December 1955 at the age of 78[1]at Chelsea, London, England.[6]
