Rev. John Adams Vinton was born on 5 Feb 1801 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA. john was the eldest son of Deacon Josiah Vinton and Betsey Giles. After attending Dartmouth College and the theological seminary in Andover he started a life time of Christian ministry.
In Jun of 1832 he married his first wife Orinda Haskell. Together they had three children in the six years of marriage before her death at the age of 33. It was widely known that her health was always frail, delicate, and her health always feeble.
Some twelve years later, on 24 Feb 1950, John married his second wife, Laurinda Richardson. John and Laurinda had four children
He passed away on 13 Nov 1877 in Winchester, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA.[1]
John was buried at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester, Massachusetts. His memorial has photos and links to those of family members.[2] He was a genealogist, and compiled The Giles Memorial: Genealogical memoirs of the families bearing the names Giles, Gould, Holmes, Jennison, Leonard, Lindall, Curwen, Marshall, Robinson, Sampson and Webb around 1864.[3]
